So join us from 8pm – Midnight as we view “Master of the Mix”, the new reality show sponsored by Smirnoff, that features seven DJs who face weekly competition until only one master of the mix remains. RND will be present at this week’s viewing to share about our work in the community…and of course, to enjoy the show.
Free Introductory Contemporary Jamaican Folk Workshop with Stefanie Belnavius
On Sunday, January 23rd, 2010, join Stefanie Belnavius as she hosts a free introductory contemporary Jamaican folk workshop titled “We Jamin’” at Joes Movement Emporium! This introductory workshop is geared towards adults 18 and over and is a fusion of Jamaican Folk dance forms (namely Dinki Mini, Gerreh & Bruckins) combined with a Contemporary/Modern influence (namely the Release Technique). 6-Week Adult Dance and Drum Workshops
Rhythm ‘N Dance presents four 6-week dance and drum classes for adults beginning October 12, 2010. We are excited to offer Afro-Venezuelan, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Contemporary dance classes, in addition to West African Drumming. All classes will be held at the Source Theater DC, located at 1835 14th Street, NW along the thriving 14th Street arts corridor
Kulture Kids Dance Workshops
The influence of dance within the African Diaspora can be recognized in its past and present traditions in our society. The movement and the stories behind all dances within the Diaspora makes known a common past and stimulates a shared sense of values and beliefs. The purpose of the Kulture Kids Dance Program is to expose our kids/teens to the history of dance within the African Diaspora.
