Welcome to Rhythm ‘n’ Dance

The organization Rhythm N Dance exists to educate and perpetuate information related to the African Diaspora using the performing arts as a medium to educate, enlighten and entertain the community.  Through our work with the youth and aspiring performing artists, we want to make sure that the cultural traditions throughout the African Diaspora are perpetuated and maintained by any means necessary.

Black Male Development Symposium

On Saturday May 12th, the RND  staff debut their new program the Redefinition of Manhood (ROM) Project at the Black Male Development Symposium.  The ROM Project is a training program that seeks to provide guidance to young men of the African Diaspora through mentorship, performing arts development and rites of passage indoctrination. The training is based on several core concepts that all combine together to create a nurturing, yet disciplined foundation for young African American males in a world where they are often misunderstood and marginalized through…

From all the staff here at Rhythm N Dance, we would like to give our DC dance community a huge THANK YOU for supporting our Haiti dance camp fundraiser “DANSE-EDEYO”.  The weekend long event, which featured several Haitian Dance workshops featuring Oakland-based Haitian folkloric dance company Rara Tou Limen, raised a grand total of $2,000 towards the Dance Camp we will have at the Joyous Heart school in Port-Au-Prince Haiti.  We’d like to thank the local dance companies who supported us in this event by…
